The ULTIMATE list of Murals in San Antonio

I grew up with art all throughout my childhood so it’s no secret that I love murals. From the beginning of San Antonio Lovelist we’ve had murals as a feature to celebrate the arts and culture of the city of San Antonio. So after two years, dozens of hours driving around and now compiling the ultimate list of murals in San Antonio, TX- I give you the go-to mural guide for your aesthetic pleasure.

If you’re feeling like touring these murals check out the San Antonio Mural Ride- they offer a great tour to check out the sites and not waste a lot of gas going place to place.

Granted while I’m missing a few photos most of the addresses on this map should be accurate- either the murals are around the address or near it. If any have been taken down or you find any new ones please drop me a comment because I want to make this the best map of murals in San Antonio.

Northside San Antonio Murals:

Out of all the areas in San Antonio- the northside has the lowest amount of murals. Currently on the list are two locations. They’re actually the two listed below:

Murals located between Bowl + Barrel and The Rustic

Made in San Antonio Mural

The Made in San Antonio mural is located at the Day Spa at Fowlawns at 17851 Rogers Ranch San Antonio, TX 78258

The Rim Murals

The three brightly colored walls are located at 17619 La Cantera Pkwy Ste 102 San Antonio, TX 78257

Deco District Murals

For all intents and purposes I’ve divided the murals on the westside from the murals located in the Deco District. In my personal opinion this is gonna be a spot to hang out at in the next couple of years. Their is also a lot of instagrammable locations here so you can monopolize on your trip. Grab some paletas from El Paraiso or maybe a bite at Deco Pizzeria then head out and take some more photos. From Buddha to superheroes- this artsy side of town has some great secret gems.

The Buddha Mural at Dandyland Tattoo

This zen mural is located near the tattoo parlor at 1620 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio, TX 78201 It’s located more in the back and can be easily accessed through Buckeye Ave.

Nipsey Hussle Mural at House of Sin by @Paes164

This mural of the late Activist and Rapper is on the corner of Ridgewood and West Ave at the House of Sin Boutique. The exact address to this mural is 601 West Ave, San Antonio, TX 78201.

Westside San Antonio Murals

What makes the murals on the Westside of San Antonio special is that they’re stories of the barrio- of the community. They’re made to capture and tell stories, uplift the community and to celebrate the rich culture of what is the Alamo City.

You Are Not Forgotten Mural

This mural was originally a tribute to the city’s veterans of the Vietnam War- but I could argue that it’s now a tribute to all American Soldiers. The mural is located on 1500 W Commerce St, San Antonio, TX 78207

Mano a Mano the Future is Ours Mural

Diversity is important and should be celebrated and this is exactly what the mural does. Located at 100 N Pinto St, San Antonio, TX 78207 it’s a truly inspiring sight.

Downtown San Antonio Murals

So downtown is awesome- I also have a different map or classification of what I consider downtown. There’s a huge amount of nuggets down here so check them out.

2AM Taco Run by Colton Valentine Mural

The brightly colored mural is located right by San Antonio Art Museum is located by 315 W Jones Ave, San Antonio TX, 78215.

San Antonio Street Art Initiative

Every now and again we get enough people that are passionate about something that want to change the world- or create beauty. We have Nik and Shek of Los Otros Murals who want to create the biggest outdoor gallery in Texas. These murals are largely located on St Mary’s so it’s easily walkable or bikeable plus you can grab some food at Fontaine’s or Tycoon Flats or a drink at many of the bars up and down the strip.

Murals Under the 35 Underpass

Located at E Euclid Ave & N St Mary's St this outdoor gallery extends all the way up through N St Mary’s up to 281.

Murals by the Historic Pearl and Museum Reach

Most of these murals are concentrated near W Grayson and fingers crossed the new Velvet Taco in San Antonio keeps most of the old Viva Tacoland murals intact. Here’s the famous I Love you Tacos So Much mural by my good friend Luis.

I Love you Tacos So Much

Located across the street from the new Velvet Taco in San Antonio is this cute little spot. Address to this guy is 103 W Grayson St, San Antonio, TX 78212

Fiesta Mural at the Fiesta Commission

If you don’t know what Fiesta is then lemme educate you really quick: It’s a city wide party to celebrate our rich history and culture and best of all it benefits a whole bunch of non-profits. So basically a party with a purpose. This mural is located at 2611 Broadway St, San Antonio, TX 78215

Murals on the Eastside of San Antonio

We’re the type that loves a good one stop shop because of this heat! So with places like Essex Modern City we’re able to drive, park and prepare endless amounts of shots- all in one take! So why not take advantage that! Not to mention we’re huge fans of the Spurs here in the city so we’ve got a few Spurs Murals here.

Essex Modern City Murals

This is an artist’s dream. You’ve seen the IG posts in front of the “You Belong Here,” mural by Ruben Rojas, Essex Modern City’s art project is home to San Antonio’s art installation that hosts some of the world’s best and most talented artists all in close proximity for your aesthetic pleasure. Ideally, you could probably Tommy Lundberg this place and it would work. Check their website for hours because they’re weird about that and then head down to 51 Essex St, San Antonio, TX 78210 to check it out!

Spurs Coyote Mural by Christopher Montoya

San Antonio loves one thing more than tacos and that’s the Spurs. The good thing about the Eastside is the huge amount of Spurs murals you’ll find. This Spurs Coyote mural is located near the AT&T center and is a great photo opp before the game. Check it out on the side of Best Tickets, 926 AT&T Center Parkway, San Antonio, TX 78219.

Southside San Antonio Murals

I can’t stress enough my love of the southside! So finding murals there are more spread out and separated. I love the Mission Reach murals and the Selena Mural because Selena forever.

Nature Murals at the Mission Reach

These are some of my faves. They’re so hidden and such a treat to find! Plus you can take your time taking photos. Find these on Villamain Rd under Loop 410 near the San Juan Capistrano Mission.

Selena Mural by Chris Montoya in Southside San Antonio

I Okay, so there might be one thing San Antonians love more than tacos, Fiesta and the Spurs- it’s Selena. Located at 100 Beatrice Ave, San Antonio, TX this beauty is a showstopper. Be careful though for my iconic mural orbiting hyper lapse I got bitten by ants galore. So just keep that in mind.
